Woodland surveys on your land by our nature officer

Throughout the winter of 2023/2024, our Nature Officer is carrying out condition surveys of woodlands in areas south of the Dyfi estuary. The surveys are targeted at understanding what state our incredibly special Oak woodlands are in, the temperate rainforest of Wales, and also at assessing what suitable habitat exists for some of the priority bird species that rely on these special habitats, such as Pied flycatchers and Wood warblers. The work will feed into an upcoming report on the ‘State of Wales’ Rainforests’, and is also a great opportunity to engage with landowners in the area to provide support or advise on woodland management. If you have woodlands on your land that you’d be interested in having surveyed as part of this work, get in touch with Ben via: ben.porter@tircanol.wales
